The Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF Canada) has been empowering local communities around the world to achieve sustainable economic and social development through the cooperative business model since 1947. We believe in partnering with communities and using a research-based, data-centric approach to our work, guided by cooperative principles. Our objective is to enhance knowledge and strengthen capacity while advocating for cooperative law and regulations. For over 75 years, we have been committed to building community-owned cooperatives that promote self-reliance and prosperity in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Our international projects focus on bridging the gap between agriculture and financial access, promoting financial inclusion, closing the gender inequality gap, and promoting resilience and sustainability. Our efforts contribute to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including promoting clean economic growth and advancing the health and rights of women and children. At CDF Canada, we are dedicated to building sustainable and self-reliant cooperative communities that can thrive for generations to come.
